VERENA MACK x POOL BOARD SERIES

Verena Mack is an artist specializing in illustration and poster design, currently studying at the University of Art and Design in Offenbach am Main. Her work spans editorial illustration, animation and commercial projects, with recent clients including Der Spiegel, the Liebieghaus Skulpturensammlung, and Dr. Martens. This spring, she won the EU Commission’s poster competition „Erste Wahl“ with her posters displayed in train stations across Germany to encourage young people to vote.

Verena's illustrations stand out for their bold shapes, vibrant colors, and playful imagery. Central themes in her work include intersectional queer feminism, critiques of capitalism and the Anthropocene, which she often presents with a humorous touch. In 2022, she was awarded the Young Book Design Award by the Stiftung Buchkunst for her diploma project, „Nonbinary Future“.
